Domino – stacking up better and better

The first print of the new Domino Gallery folder left the printing press last week. We decided to use it as proof that an image can assist sales and that by selling key information you can still create an image-building message. The folder we designed is part of a larger puzzle, the further elements of which will take the form of posters and leaflets (also penned by us). We’d like to take this moment to reply to the rumors implying that while we were designing for Domino we played blinder. Nothing like that has ever taken place, and Kris definitely can’t boast winning.

Concept Store

Minima CMS in action!

Last month marked the third time that we have had the pleasure to design the Iptonic website. This time the site that we have authored highlights designer furniture and decorative elements sold at the Iptonic Concept Store. In order to make Mr. Google’s work easier, the page was written in HTML. Additionally we got our first chance to implement our own CMS system. The production of this utility took almost a year out of our lives and consumed a ton of peanuts, 3 hectoliters of Coca Cola and 100m2 of pizza. When the last corrections were made and the site was fired up the whole effort proved more than worthwhile. These are actually the words of our programmer, who due to the aforementioned diet, has difficulty making any effort.

Explore Poland

A sign that we’re working

Thanks to Marpol Travel we have the pleasure of working on the website of the project Explore Poland. The venture itself is aimed at gathering local guides in every major Polish city and organizing thrilling tours for everybody interested. We started off with designing the logotype – the results of our work can be seen on the right. Because the upcoming installment deals with Poznań, our copywriter devoted himself to acquiring information about the capital of Greater Poland.
It turned out that: 1. We have the world’s biggest beer mug in Poznań. 2. Adolf Hitler’s balcony with a view of Św. Marcin did not have heated railings. We were shocked. At a rapidly summoned meeting we put together a special team to confirm these findings. The team set out on their mission a week ago and disappeared without a trace. As we were informed – the boys decided to empirically get to the bottom of the whole beer mug case. Nothing to worry about, though. We sent backup right away.

LingExpert

Up for interpretation

For the last 3 weeks we have worked for, among others, LingExpert, a company that focuses
on translating and interpreting (mostly English-Polish). One of the project’s internal concepts was the sole use of a foreign language during its completion. To raise the bar even higher, we chose
an Amazon variation of the north Bogota dialect. After the first week we were able to utter “dang”, “weak”, “just a moment!” and “pumpernickel” – we seemed to be on our way to achieve spectacular success. After the second week, the Managing Director came back from vacation
and nothing was as it seemed any more. The logotype was completed before she had a chance
to take off her coat, and the website finished its design exactly when she observed that “her coffee is already lukewarm”. The site (probably along with half of the team) will hang soon.

IEASSF

MINIMA international

MINIMA’s circle of clients has recently broadened thanks to the introduction of the IEASSF (International Education Agency Support Services Foundation), a foundation that caters to international student exchange programs. To start things off on a good note we prepared a logotype and visual identification for the organization. The next step was to implement a website and present designs of further materials. The assignment triggered moments of philosophical pondering on the subjects of youth, college life and ketchup-filled pancakes among the elder part of our team. Following our brainstorm we found a note on the conference table that read “In my days all students could exchange were dorm-rooms, and even that wasn’t done in the limelight!”. We would like to express our profound empathy for the author of the note. And our heartfelt envy for the students that employ the services of IEASFF.

Marpol Travel

A new logo for the summer

It is universally known that summer is the key season of the year. Because it is still a few months away, we’ve decided to warm up by rebranding the logotype for travel agency Marpol Travel.
Apart from rebranding the logotype of the agency itself, we have been given the pleasure to design the new logotype of ExplorePoland, a brand that belongs to Marpol Travel.Simultaneously, work
is being carried out on a practical leaflet for tourists visiting Poznań. The project also introduced
a ton of catalogues about tropical islands and round-the-world trips. Word around town says that summer may be here a bit early and stay a bit longer. After all, somebody has to visit all these places.

We're the first in Poland and probably the only in the world. Even the world's greatest scientists failed and the public opinion considered it unacheiveable. Today, we can finally announce it officially: after almost a month of work we have successfully brought a Mammoth to Poland.
Where there's a trunk, there's a show: www.mamut-media.eu, and this is just the beginning.

Following the success of last year's edition, which promoted the brand's newest line – Innovation, we were asked to design a sales catalog. Canappka

Run for your refreshment!

How do you attract people taking a walk in the Old Market Square to a small establishment in Wielka Street? You organize a race! We approached the matter, once again, with method – in order to fully analyze the situation we took an afternoon stroll. And after that another, to confirm the weather conditions. As a result, we created a flier, which could be exchanged for a free lemonade, on the condition that you made it to the establishment within five minutes of meeting the hostess. The leaflets handed out in the square were all stamped with the exact time in which they were handed to the passerby. The lemonade was waiting in close proximity, in Wielka Street. 200 meters to cover, and  the delicious, debuting, newest entry in the menu  was yours to get.
The Results: With minimum expenses and only two hostesses, a 93% coupon return rate and almost 600 thirsts quenched.

HLB

"Forbes", "Puls Biznesu", "Newsweek", "Businessman Magazine" – simultaneously!

Now we know, what it feels like to appear in the widest-circulating business magazines in Poland. Sarnowski & Wiśniewski asked us to design an announcement informing of their joining the ranks of the largest international auditing groups – HLB. We therefore created a design which  referred to their change in CI and informed of the firm's main areas of interest as well as the prestigious moment in their history. The announcement was placed in all the titles mentioned in this note's title. We are at least entitled to be the least bit proud. After a week HLB Sarnowski & Wiśniewski asked us to design their website. Work is in progress.

Krześlice Palace

A weekend in the park

It's not every day that we get to meet the owners of renaissance palaces. Not one of us can even lay claim to a small backwood hut, so working for an owner of several such properties was a real challenge for us. We were recently asked by Lama Gold to conduct an image campaign for their estate in Krześlice. We did a little digging in its history, took a closer look at the surrounding, even checked the quality of the palace lawn. Then we gave history a humorous twist. Billboards and
a folder welcoming the palace's guests were created. The effects can be seen on the side.
The effectiveness – above average.

Bibus Metals

Still steel

A few months back we were asked by the Polish branch of Bibus Metals to design a leaflet.
We are still impressed by what the company does (water-cutting, pressing steel, alloying nickel and titanium), and as it turns out, we've been offered the pleasure of working for them again.
Now we've been asked to create a full product catalog. Nothing's left to write, time to get to work!

VOX

Inspiring design, inspiring interiors

Salons across Poland have recently witnessed the debut of the latest VOX catalog – "Inspirujące wnętrza 2009/2010". MINIMA had the unsuppressed pleasure of winning the bid to design the catalog, and then of consistently bringing it to life. We decided on a clear offer and intuitive navigation. We're also responsible for the system of icons that communicate the functions and characteristics of the materials, which will now be implemented in all of the company's sales salons. We worked two months without a single break. It wasn't easy, but it was worth it.

Woźniak Kocur

MINIMA with a British accent

An advertisment designed by MINIMA for the law firm Woźniak Kocur has been printed in the prestigious London-based magazine "The Lawyer". A few months earlier Woźniak Kocur were recognized in the Legal 500 – a prestigious ranking of the top European legal firms. A few months later, one of the partners in the firm, Michał Kocur was applauded in the latest edition of Legal Experts 2009. We're not saying it happened thanks to us. Not in the tiniest bit. We had nothing whatsoever to do with the case.
